Weekend Review

Well this weekend I went to Bayfest. Had a great time overall with Sunday being the best. Friday I saw Keith Anderson and Gretchen Wilson, both country artists. Keith was ok, I only know a couple of his songs so that kinda lessened it. He is new but not bad as an artist. Gretchen was better. She had a fairly excitement packed show with lots of faster music and fireworks and flame.

Saturday was better than Friday though one long day. I was up at 5:30 that morning to go to the hunting camp to finish fixing a much needed bridge. Then home to eat and relax a bit before Bayfest that night. After a big mix up on Bayfest's fault (their paper copy had different schedules than online) I did manage to see Hinder and I think 10 Years. Hinder was great, got to hear the two main songs I like by them. Met up with Brian and Matt and later Miranda and later still saw Kenny and KC. 10 Years is just not my kind of music at all so I did not care for them. After that I went over to Gary Allan. He was great. Good selection of songs from his various CDs. He left then came back out for 3 more songs, his best to me.

Sunday top it all off. Got there early (5:30) to meet KC and Kenny for some M.C. Hammer. But after 30 minutes of no show we left and walked over to where Brian was at Sister Hazel. Was annoyed about the Hammer but Sister Hazel was pretty good. We hung around for the rest of that concert and then waited on the Wreckers. They were without a doubt awesome. Michelle Branch is gorgeous and Jessica Harp is also extremely beautiful. We were about 10 feet from the stage so we could see really good. Brian has a bunch of photos and a couple videos. We left as they were closing with their debut song to see part of Skynyrd. I had seen them before but KC, Kenny, nor Brian had. We got there to hear Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird. Nothing major for me as I had seen them before but good nonetheless.

A friend from South had a few extra VIP passes that she graciously let us have. Brian, KC, and Kenny did not have to walk by the VIP section so I did on my way out and stopped to see if they were still open. I called the above mentioned to inform them of such but they "were not interested." Now, that being said, the VIP section had 2 bars with at least 10 types of liquor- all you can drink for free. I partook of one drink (Doc has me on none but could not pass up free). Then I just went home.

Overall it was a great weekend. Till next time....
